Use Pipsi to manage Python utilities


There are many useful tools and utilities that are written in Python. Here are a few I use regularly:

How do you install these tools? By now you should know that installing external packages into your system Python environment is a terrible idea. Most of these tools have dependencies of their own, so using a shared virtual environment is not a foolproof solution either.

Pipsi (pip script installer) is a wrapper around virtualenv and pip that you can use to easily install Python tools into their own virtual environment.

The readme on Github will tell you all you need to know. I just want to post this here in case you haven't heard of it yet - I only found out about it earlier this year myself. I'm sure you'll find it useful.
